It’s 01:39 + I’ve been cleaning my room again. The TV’s on in the background; Robin Thicke was performing on Conan O’Brien earlier tonight. John Krasinski from The Office was on the show too; apparently he was an intern at the studio but ended up being a cast for the show. Jimmy Fallon came on + the band for the show is just incredible. I decided to clean out the back of my car just incase you need that extra space for luggage. There were so many bottles in the backseat. It’s not too cold tonight - I’m sure you’ve braved through worse. Bobo was running around, watching me put rubbish in plastic bags. You’ll be landing in roughly 15 hours from now. I think my sister’s coming back from San Francisco too. I’m still working on 4 hours of sleep. My body’s tired but I’m not feeling sleepy yet. I didn’t get a chance to work on my painting today but I did get some more paint. The day started when my alarm went off at 14:00 - I brushed my teeth + washed my face. I lounged around for a while + was pleasantly surprised when I received your txt. I signed on and there you were - we were chatting for a while and then you had to leave for breakfast. I took a shower and when I came back you were back too!! But we didn’t chat for long + I’m so sorry for leaving in such a hurry, you see it was already 16:20 over here + I needed to find something. I had to go make the sun shine!! I ran to the bank, went over to Snake’s and left for Temple City. By then it was already 18:00 and there was heavy traffic. We made it to the destination and I was able to find what I wanted, so we headed back to Snake’s house. We talked for a while and drank coke and answered trivia questions on 1 vs 100. It was about music videos and Snake was really good at it. Our friend Josh had come back from college and invited us out for dinner, but I didn’t want to go nor did Snake. On my way back, I made a stop at Target with the intention of purchasing some shaving gel. I spent half an hour looking for the perfect wrapping paper instead!! I did eventually pick up some shaving gel + toothbrushes. Fortunately, I stumbled across something amazing!! I can’t tell you what it is though. You’ll have to wait and see :~] It’s now 2:07 - I should get some rest soon. Sleep has finally caught up with me. But most importantly, I want to have an early start to the day. I don’t know where you are in the world right now but I can’t wait to see you!! So have a safe journey home!! See you soon!! <3
It’s been a long day. Yesterday feels like the same day as today. I’m still working on 4 hours of sleep. Last night I went walking with Snake on Sunset Blvd. He wanted to check out Amoeba records to see if they had The Killers on vinyl, but they were all sold out. Instead, he bought The Master Plan by Oasis + a reprint of an Interpol album; he calls it the best record of the decade. We made our way back to his truck to put away the vinyls. We’d parked at a Denny’s and walked around; there was meter parking but none of us had any change and there wasn’t enough space for his truck to park in the residential areas. While on Sunset we found a poorly placed movie theater with cool blue lights + a Borders that doesn’t close until 12 Midnight. We didn’t go inside but from the outside it looked really nice. I want to take you there so we can go look at books and drink tea + coffee - it also has a nice cafe area :~] The sidewalk outside Borders had stars on them - it links up with Hollywood + Vine, so we decided to follow it. The name “Bing Crosby” kept popping up; that guy has at least 3 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We ended up at the intersection H+V and walked further down towards Highland. The roads were blocked up right outside The El Capitan + the Disney cafe/store? There were limos, black vans and a tour-bus parked outside. The sidewalk was sealed off too. We ended up walking around the area to find something to drink. We had to go through the Galleria to get around the road block. While going around the back we saw a cool Mercedes that had a matte finish; it looked like the Bat mobile but awesome!! We walked down to Sunset and found a Subway. I got a $5 sub and so did Snake but he didn’t feel to good after eating so we made our way back to the Galleria at Highland. I found out that Snake’s dog, Krypto, passed away a couple of days ago. He’s had Krypto for over 11 years. I had no idea he was down. We found The Beatles’ + Elvis’ stars. Remember that wax museum outside the Kodak Theater with a statue of Samuel L. Jackson + Marilyn Monroe? They have a statue of Justin Timberlake now. When we finally found the restrooms it turns out that they were closed. We found another Denny’s on Sunset - there’s like 2 of them in close proximity. He used their bathrooms + we trekked back to the truck. We sat there talking about President Obama and stereotypes. Snake recovered + we drove home. I didn’t go home last night - I helped Snake fix his laptop + we stayed up and talked about music and film trivia. Snake fell asleep around 09:00 so I left. I got home and knocked out at around 10:00. I set an alarm to wake up at 14:00 so I could talk to you when you woke up :~]
The boy told me to turn on all the lights in the house before going to sleep otherwise bad things would happen. It was dark out, I was standing at the bottom of a library looking up at a clock tower. You were sitting in a white lounge. I tried falling back to sleep but I woke up at 14:27. I painted while the awesome kids were creating art with assault rifles. I took a break from painting and watched the latest episode of Diggnation; they had a huge discussion on Google being able to monopolize in markets where they have no intention of making money. Basically Google can do things that other companies can’t afford to do. They can go in and take over any market space and offer that particular product/service for free. Take for instance GPS navigation. Google is going to offer turn-by-turn navigation for free; consquently, companies that depend on the sale of GPS devices will run out of business. On the other hand, free GPS navigation will help other industries grow as well as increase productivity; take for instance people who could use GPS to increase their client-base. Google’s got more money in the bank than it knows what to do with + it shows how a company that doesn’t need to make money can own any market space. Google’s going to take over the world someday. I waged war and touched up on my painting; I watched King of the Hill; Hank took Bobby to a football game so that he could live a fulfilled life. Family Guy came on after: Meg was having a birthday party but Lois + Peter didn’t know how old she. I did the laundry + cleaned the room. I drank a lot of water + feeling great!! :~]
Yesterday I got up at 16:08. The awesome kids have been camping outside my room so they can play war. This is their strategy; they’re doing it right now - they’re just sitting outside my room causing a ruckus; singing Christmas carols and blasting the TV. They trying to make it hard for me to go back to sleep, they want me to wake up and they want me to know that they’re there. They came in and played until dinner time. I watched the news and browsed youtube for a bit. I was looking for a song by David Choi called Amy Ave. It has really nice chord progressions. It took me a good hour and half to find the video - and even then, the clip of the song isn’t even that long; he only played a preview of the song so it was like under 15 seconds - but the chords are beautiful!! I ended up watching Russell Howard’s Good News - he’s the English guy who you can’t seem to understand very well. Aftwards I was setting up my canvas so I could paint. I got the paints out but the caps wouldn’t come off so I had to get a pair of pliers to remove them. I laid out my paintbrushes but realized that one of my detailing brushes was missing. I couldn’t find it - but I started painting anyways. My brushes are still soaking in a jar of blue water from last night. Snake + B called but I’m taking the day off to listen to daft punk + paint :~]
Fantastic Plastic Machine - L’aventure Fantastique ♫
The day didn’t start until 16:37 by then the sun was already setting. It wasn’t raining today. With some dashes of clouds, the sky looked faintly blue. The awesome kids were shooting enemy soldiers until dinner time. Dinner was left-over spring rolls and a can of coke. Watched Diggnation for a bit + went on digg.com to read up on the news. Google is coming out with a phone called the Nexus to compete with Apple’s iPhone. Mininova’s been ordered to delete all of its torrent files apart from those that have been uploaded by approved members. The reason was because they couldn’t control the flow of illegal torrents such as films + music, so the courts ordered them to delete everything on their servers. That’s not to say that people can’t upload illegal files afterwards; unlike the piratebay it’s quite possible for mininova to recover. Even still, I think the piratebay is still operational but nobody knows for how long. It seems as though the internet is slowly being shutdown and certain sectors are being privatized by corporations. Download now while you still can. Call of Duty from 01:30 to 04:00. Glad to see you online babies. It’s now 06:00 - you’ve already gone to sleep. I should get some rest too. Have fun at the tea plantation + lake tomorrow. Don’t forget to stay warm :~]
It’s been raining all day. I wish I was where you are. I went out walking in the rain today. The Boss was being an idiot and got angry at me for no reason. We got into a little fight; he burst into my room without knocking. It was a total disrespect to my privacy. I didn’t want to be at home so I left the house but he got in my way while I was backing out so I ditched the car and walked. I ended up walking all the way to Snake’s house. I was completely drenched; I knew I was suppose to feel cold but I guess I was too numb to react. I left the house at 20:30 but I didn’t get to his house until 22:30. Fortunately, I caught Snake backing out of his drive way; he was on his way to fill up his truck. We made a stop at Von’s to get some Arizona Ice Tea but they didn’t have any so we settled for Gatorade instead. We drove to downtown Long Beach and walked around. We sat by the harbor and talked about politics. He was talking about the damaging effects of American Capitalism on the world and how the U.S. doesn’t attack countries where they have established some form of infrastructure. He then went on a rant about British politics including Margaret Thatcher + Tony Blair. We left at around 00:30 and went to get some coffee at Denny’s on Seventh + Gale. We got there at around 01:00 + stayed until 02:30 talking about the economy and drinking a lot of coffee. He dropped me off at 03:00; it’d started to rain again. When I got inside my mum was still awake, she said she told The Boss off for being a twit. I’m glad she got my back. After taking a shower I smiled when I got your email. I’m really looking forward to seeing photos of Lee’s Garden. It might actually look like the Docklands in London. Hopefully you’ll be able to snap some gorgeous shots of the pretty lights in Suzhou. Oh!! + what a coincidence - Room 703 - numbers we can both like!! I’m going to give you the BIGGEST hug when I see you!! I will be there to catch your flight ♥
I got your message 12 minutes after you left for the Forbidden City. How was the Great Wall by the way? Hope your legs are feeling better. I get to see you next week!! :~] I didn’t wake up until 15:30; by then awesome kids were already home from school. I watched Scrubs on Comedy Central; Michael J. Fox guest starred on the show. Dr. Cox was competing with him to see who was the better doctor. Awesome kids were occupying my room again. They’ve gotten really good at Modern Warfare. I watched Spongebob Squarepants with the kids; it was the episode with the pencil-drawn Spongebob that causes havoc in Bikini Bottom. The awesome kids jammed in my room until seven and then it was time for dinner. I had some soup with rice. At 21:40, Big B called. He’s back in the Heights. He wanted to get some coffee. It’d been raining earlier during the day. The water on the back of my car window froze half-way so it was near impossible to see anything in my rearview mirror. There was a group of drunk people next door; they were going to their cars, I guess. One of them walked really close to my car as I backed out. It started to rain again on the way over to Big B’s. When I finally got there he was still in his room sorting stuff out. Starbucks was closed so we decided to go to Boston Cafe instead. He ordered a dish with chicken and rice. I wasn’t hungry but I got a chrysanthemum + honey tea - there was more honey than tea :~( B + I caught up + started talking about Kant and Sartre; Kant was responsible for duty and moral conduct, while Sarte delt with free-will, existentialism, and how everyone is responsible for their own actions. After he finished eating we both sat there for a couple of hours watching basketball + talking about philosophy, UCLA, + Lady Gaga. Apparently there were armed law enforcers outside our street when I left. My mum told me not to come home yet because the cops had set up road blocks. It might have something to do the weird people next door. I got home at 01:00 but didn’t see anything that resembled a crime scene. The awesome kids were still awake; they didn’t sleep because they wanted to play Modern Warfare again. They vacated the room at 02:30 but the system was still running.. I ended up playing the game for another hour.
I woke up at 08:53 but didn’t get out of bed until 09:08. I washed up and had “Let’s Make A Deal” with Wayne Brady playing in the background. The audience were all wearing costumes: there was a lady dressed as a police officer and a guy dressed as a disco tennis player. They gave away trips to San Francisco + 5 star hotel + fine dining. I watched White Collar on Hulu then fell asleep while watching 30 ROCK. Had a dream about working as an FBI agent. I was trying to prevent some crime syndicate from smuggling narcotics. I slipped a tracking device into the side pocket of one of the members and then got some coffee at some bakery. My alarm clock went off at 1pm but I ended up snoozing another hour before getting up. Jason Reeves album is pretty good, he sounds like a guy version of Colbie Caillat. Apparently Reeves + Caillat worked together extensively when he moved to California from Iowa. After taking a shower I left for class. Steve made a large print out of our poster; I’m guessing he really liked our team’s project. Steve gave us a lecture on the graphic design industry and then the class gave their presentations. We voted for our favorite posters and “The Cardboard Spaceship” came in first place. They were the hobo+techno group. I think they deserved to win - they worked really hard to get their pictures and the idea was very creative. Well I got out at 18:30 and went to Michael’s Arts + Crafts to pick up some paper for painting. I was on the fence between watercolor + canvas paper. I opted for canvas paper because firstly I’ll be painting with acrylics, secondly I don’t think the paper will wrinkle as much as watercolor paper + lastly the paint should adhere better to canvas paper because of its texture. I found a dollar while walking around the shop. There was a rather queue; lots of people were buying Christmas decorations. I think the workers there are seasonal because it took years for them to kill the line. Colbie Caillat kept me company on the drive home. Mum bought pizza to celebrate dad’s birthday. I watched Anderson Cooper on CNN and watched Chowder with awesome kids. They took turns playing Modern Warfare 2. I watched some diggnation and then ended up youtubing. I haven’t watched youtube in a while babies :~] I watched a live performance of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and ended up downloading her new album: The Fame Monster. I got the Deluxe Edition - there are 24 tracks, but it looks as though only 9 of them are actually new. “Retro, Dance, Freak” reminds me of the Tings Tings which isn’t a bad thing. Can’t wait to start painting!!
You just went to get some rest so you can go out later tonight. It’s 23:48 now. The Discover Channel is playing in the background. I woke up about nine hours ago. I messaged you around 15:30 not knowing that you would sign on moments later. I didn’t expect you to have a connection for a while, so I was glad to see you online. You told me it was funny to see me online from 6200 miles away. Your connection was unstable so you kept disconnecting. I guess you fell asleep afterwards, but I kept leaving you messages. You told me about your day how you could choose between beef noodle or seafood rice for dinner on the flight + 3 hours before landing you had chicken instead of beef. When you landed you had to take a subway to reclaim your luggage. You met up with your tour guide called Vivian and she startled you with a wakeup call. Your card keys weren’t working properly so a worker had to help you fix it. Paul had a headache so he took a break. You didn’t really enjoy the buffet and wanted to eat somewhere else. Later on you went to a shopping centre called “Ginka” where the average cost of an item wa $100. You bought a leopard print bag because mommy told you to but you secretly liked it :~) I spent time with my brothers today and watched them play Modern Warfare 2. I also watched several episodes of Spongebob Squarepants. I decided to play FFXII to pass the time until you came back from your walk. I haven’t played it in years so the story didn’t make any sense to me. They speak in Old English which sounds really polite. It’d be awesome if people talked like that today. I got your message after you came back from your short walk; you were knackered. You told me how everyone over there speaks with an accent and how you can only communicate with nods and smiles. I made a sandwich + took a hot shower. After doing the dishes I ate some Oranges. You told me how your Dragon Fruits taste a lot better than the ones over there. I want to try some next time you have more. Tomorrow will be the last time I have to go to class until the New Years. It felt so cold today with subtle shades of emptiness. Time passes so aimlessly without you.
